About the Project:

Creative Designs in Lighting provided lighting design services for this 30k SF church in Sun City West, Arizona. The project was the recipient of the 2001 International Illumination Design Award of Merit with IES.

The Prince of Peace Catholic Church, opened for Easter of 1999. It includes an entire Parish for a retirement community in Sun City West, AZ that is experiencing tremendous growth. The church wanted a modern mission in the desert while encompassing an “old world feel”. A fan-shaped seating pattern in the sanctuary contains 1,400 seats and a daily Mass Chapel. All parts of the campus open onto a large courtyard which is centrally located. The courtyard is surrounded by a textural masonry arcade. Interior furnishings and windows were designed by Rambusch Studios.

The 30,000 square foot church, and 10,000 square foot multi-purpose building, is one of several projects constructed for the Roman Catholic Church of Phoenix.
