Restaurants at IAH Airport in Houston

Creative Designs in Lighting partnered with OTG to reimagine United Airline’s Terminal C at Houston IAH Airport (George Bush Intercontinental Airport), a key hub in the airline’s global network.

The new world-class customer experience opened restaurants inspired by local Houston chefs and flavors as follows:

Ember – Texas tavern with regional fare and flavors, featuring a wood burning grill to ensure all chops are up to standard. The central feature is a wine wall that is grazed with warm orange light from below to emulate a glowing ember. Color changing lighting was also incoporated into the roof of the restaurant to illuminate the terminal ceiling and the extensive mesh of Texas stars.

Bam Bam – In Houston, the influence of a large Vietnamese population has taken delicious Cajun seafood staples and added a Vietnamese flair. Bam Bam’s menu and recipes include grilled and raw oysters, including Cajun Kitchen’s famous oyster nachos, Vietnamese-Cajun boils and Po-boys all perfectly paired with a selection of rotating local and regional beers. Bamboo columns glow from above, private dining booths glow from behind, and the bottle coves incorporate illuminated bases to uplight bottles.

Pala – Pala brings local, seasonal and Neapolitan style pizza to terminal C-North courtesy of widely-celebrated Chef Ryan Pera. The master behind area favorite Coltivare Pizza & Garden, Chef Pera has developed a menu featuring locally-sourced flavors and ingredients, reflecting his strong dedication to sustainable practices.

Vida Taqueria – Classic tex mex offering from one of Houston’s.

Olio – A locally-inspired panini bar, connecting area farmers to travelers.
