About the Project:
Architect Wendell Burnett wanted the space allow patients to experience an atmosphere of light and hope. This atypical doctor’s office, focused on breast reconstruction for cancer victims, incorporates daylight from north/east windows with views of the mountains and fades into frosted finishes for an atmosphere of privacy and safety. Lighting within the space was primarily indirect to eliminate glare and provide uniform lighting that integrated with the daylight when available and the neutral white color palette emphasized the dynamic colors of natural light and shadows. The backlighted signage that welcomes you to the space features a lighted cavity behind the bottle glass sheets with a subtle glow of pink from an LED matrix behind the logo.
